The Internal Security Fund has as its general objective the securing of a high level of security in the Union through financial support in the field of external border management and the common visa policy.<\/p>\n<p>Under the auspices of the European and Development Programs Management Service (Y.D.E.A.P.), the political dialogue between the bodies of Greece and the European Commission took place in September 2013, resulting in the drawing up of strategies and the adoption of the main points of interest to both sides.<br \/>\nThe National Program of Greece for support from the European Internal Security Fund for the programming period 2014-2020 was approved with the no. C(2015) 5312\/31-07-2015 Decision of the European Commission. The total budget of the actions to be financed by the European Internal Security Fund \u2013 Borders and Visas Sector amounts to \u20ac204,449,184.00, including Special Actions (FRONTEX Equipment). The percentage of European participation for this Sector is 75%, while the percentage of European participation for Special Actions (FRONTEX Equipment) is 90%.<\/p>\n<p>The European Internal Security Fund \u2013 Sector Borders and Visas, includes the financing of actions, which aim to achieve the following Special Objectives:[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1511953975703{margin-top: 30px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Specific Objective 1- Supporting a common visa policy:&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h4|text_align:left&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1511954009470{margin-top: 30px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Efficient processing of Schengen visas is supported through the adoption of a common visa policy aimed at facilitating legal movement to the EU, providing high-quality services to visa applicants and ensuring equal treatment of third-country nationals as well as tackling illegal immigration.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Special Objective 2- Borders:&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h4|text_align:left&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal&#8221;][vc_column_text]A uniform and high level of external border control is envisaged by supporting their integrated management, the harmonization of border management measures within the Union and the exchange of information between EU members and between EU members and the Frontex Agency, in order to upgrade the level of border control and ensure the smooth crossing of external borders.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1511953985728{margin-top: 30px !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;Specific Objective 3 &#8211; Operational support for entry visas and borders:&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h4|text_align:left&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Roboto%3A100%2C100italic%2C300%2C300italic%2Cregular%2Citalic%2C500%2C500italic%2C700%2C700italic%2C900%2C900italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal&#8221;][vc_column_text]It promotes the formulation and implementation of policies that ensure the absence of any checks on persons, regardless of nationality, when crossing internal borders, by carrying out checks on persons and effectively monitoring the crossing of external borders.
