European & Development Programmes Management Agency (E.P.D.M.A.) of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, acting as Programme Operator, successfully organized the 13th meeting of the Cooperation Committee entitled “Capacity building of national asylum and migration management systems” which is co-financed by resources of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area for the period 2014-2021 (EEA Grants), on Thursday 14/03/2024 at the premises of E.P.D.M.A.
The Cooperation Committee meeting, chaired by the Programme Operator, was attended by officials from the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI)), which is the Donor Programme Partner, the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, which acts as the Policy Maker, the National Focal Point of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Financial Mechanism Office as well as representatives of the Beneficiaries of the eight (8) Predefined Projects.
The agenda of the meeting included a variety of topics of particular interest focused on the implementation of the GR-G Programme. In particular, the implementation process and the milestones that have been achieved or are expected to be achieved for the Predefined Projects and the projects within the framework of the Small Grant Scheme, were presented. Furthermore, the proposals for Bilateral Initiatives that are to be implemented by the Programme Operator or the Beneficiaries, were analyzed. Finally, as the completion of the Programme’s eligible implementation period approaches, issues regarding the Programme’s Closing Event were discussed.
