The action entitled “Strengthening Police Services with personnel for the provision of security services at the Reception and Identification Centers” concerns the coverage of expenses (travel expenses, daily allowances away from home, and overnight expenses), for the deployment of 440 people (police personnel & Special Guards ) at the Police Directorates of the Eastern Aegean islands (Greek-Turkish sea border), for the purpose of guarding, security and dealing with emergency situations at the Reception and Identification Centers, where immigrants and refugees who enter the Greek territory illegally remain/are hosted territory. The secondments financed by the action concern the period 01/10/2018 – 31/05/2019 (with the exception of one (1) sub-project, which ends on 31/03/2019).
Reinforcement of Police Services with personnel to provide security services at Reception and Identification Centers
The aforementioned police personnel – Special Guards that will be assigned to the Police Directorates (PD) of Lesvos, Chios, Samos and Second Dodecanese (Leros and Kos Islands), as a reinforcement force, will be charged with the following tasks:
– The security of visiting officials within the premises of the Reception and Identification Centers (Hotspots),
– Carrying out checks when entering/exiting the facilities of the Reception and Identification Centers (Hotspots),
– Carrying out patrols within the premises of the Reception and Identification Centers (Hotspots),
– The general guarding of the facilities of the Reception and Identification Centers (KYT – Hotspots), as well as the maintenance of order and security within them.
The action is financed by the “Emergency Assistance” mechanism of the Internal Security Fund/Borders & Visas Sector.
