The Action titled: “Enhancement of the Hellenic Police CApacity for the successful implementation of the Interoperability framework (ECAI)” is a Special Action of the Financial Support Instrument for Border Management and Visa Policy (BMS). The purpose of the Action is to support the Schengen countries to comply with the implementation of the legal framework for interoperability. The action has two aspects: 1) preparation of the end users of the EU information systems. for the correct handling of information contained in other systems as a result of interoperability and 2) strengthening the capacity of SIRENE Bureaux to manage yellow links during the transition period. Greece applies both aspects. The total budget of the action amounts to €1,091,254.73.
The expected results of the Action are:
- Increase the number of cases generated by the MID (Multiple Identity Detector) and can be handled by the competent authority (SIRENE Bureau).
- Increase in the number of yellow links resolved by the SIRENE Bureau compared to the number of cases forwarded.
- Enhance end-user readiness to implement interoperability by providing relevant training and manuals.
