The European and Development Programmes Management Agency (E.D.P.M.A.). of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, acting as Administrator of the GR-G Program entitled “Capacity Building of National Asylum and Migration Management Systems” (Capacity Building of National Asylum and Migration Management Systems) took place on 5/7 /2022 in the issuance of the Incorporation Decision for the Act entitled:
“Defined Action 6 – Improving the capacity of the Greek Police to identify and manage unaccompanied minors and vulnerable groups”, in the context of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area for the period 2014-2021 (EEA Grants 2014 – 2021).
This act, with a total budget of €600,000.00, is implemented by the Hellenic Police Headquarters of the Ministry of Citizen Protection and aims to develop the skills of police personnel in terms of identifying, evaluating and prioritizing cases of vulnerability among immigrant groups.
Specifically, the act aims at the early and successful identification of vulnerable groups of migrants during the asylum process (with particular emphasis on unaccompanied and separated minors), the assessment of their needs and their preparation for the next steps of the asylum or reunification process, through of the following activities:
- Development of educational programs,
- Index manual development,
- Development of a digital training platform,
- Training of police personnel of Reception and Identification Centers in vulnerability recognition through the use of training simulators.
The operation will be implemented with the advisory support of the Center for Security Studies , which is the Project Partner.
